Source	The image was derived from a photograph purchased from the Imperial War Museum, London. It was taken by an unnamed member of staff in the course of their work for the IWM.

Purpose of use	While a verbal description can help to explain the features of the Sheet, a photo is necessary to convey a sense of the whole artefact.
Replaceable?	This Fair Use image depicts a historical artefact from the Pacific War and as such it is not possible to replace the image with an open-copyright option. Because it is a piece of embroidery, the copyright belongs to the author, who lived until 1975.
Other information	The Sheet is not on public display but can be seen by prior appointment. It is kept rolled up: to display it for visitors it is spread out horizontally on the tops of tables. Because of its size, 2.5m x 2m, and fragility they won't hang it on a wall. This use does not reduce its value to the copyright owner, the Imperial War Museum, because they do not commercially exploit it. For whatever it may be worth, the copyright owner has given permission to use it in this article.
