DescriptionCubic Closest Packing (CCP) and Hexagonal Closet Packing (HCP).png
English: The first and second layers hace the same arrangement in both CCP and HCP. However, there are two different positions that you can put atoms on the third layer. If the atoms on the third layers are sitting directly above the first layer, then it will form HCP structure If the atoms on the third layers are not sitting exactly the same position as the first layer, then it will form CCP structure.
This math image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}.
It is recommended to name the SVG file “Cubic Closest Packing (CCP) and Hexagonal Closet Packing (HCP).svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.
