Description
Español: Crátera de volutas del Pintor de Copenhague 4223. Escena funeraria, en cuyo centro se sitúa un naiskos con un difunto sentado sobre piedras en el interior. En la mano derecha sujeta su lanza y su escudo redondo se halla apoyado sobre una de las columnas. En la mano izquierda sostiene una corona. Del fondo superior cuelga un kántharos. A los lados del templete hay dos figuras, un hombre desnudo y una mujer vestida con quitón. Llevan ofrendas a la tumba: corona, espejo y cintas. En el cuello de la pieza surge una cabeza de mujer de perfil entre espirales y roleos vegetales. En los medallones de las volutas figuran cabezas que son máscaras frontales de la Gorgona o Medusa, del tipo «bello». Altura: 56 cm; diámetro boca: 32,50 cm; anchura máxima: 38,60 cm; diámetro pie: 16 cm. 340-320 a. C. Nº Inv. 32695. Museo Arqueológico Nacional de España.
