| Description |
English: A gigantic pieuvre (monstrous octopus, a kraken). This is an altered copy of the picture found in Frédéric Bouyer's book, and here, the ship's size is reduced to miniscule proportions in comparison. The author Henri Coupin (1912) [1903] comments that Mr. Rouyer [sic.] has drawn this animal a "bit sympathetically", i.e., exaggerated. |
