Citées par A.J Wauters dans son "l'Etat Indépendant du Congo" édité en 1899, librairie Falks Fils à Bruxelles (P. Weissenbruch, Imprimeur du Roi, 45, rue du Poinçon)

Elles se lisent : « D’azur à la fasce ondée d’argent, accompagnée en chef à dextre d’une étoile à cinq rais d’or, et chargée d’un écu de sable au lion d’or, armé et lampassé de gueules portant sur l’épaule un burelé d’or et de sable de dix pièces au crancelin de sinople posé en bande. »

L’écu sommé de la couronne royale d’or est supporté par deux lions léopardés au naturel. Devise : « Travail et Progrès ». Le tout placé sur un manteau de pourpre doublé d’hermine, surmonté de la couronne royale.
