DescriptionClosed entrance inside Civic Center station, October 2017.JPG
English: Closed north-side entrance at 8th and Hyde inside Civic Center station in October 2017. The entrance was closed in December 2016 after a sewer pipe collapsed under the escalators. In August 2017, BART announced that both the closed entrance and the still-open entrance in this corridor would likely be permanently closed, as the passageway space is needed for a new electrical substation to increase Transbay Tube train frequency. This closure took place on November 1, 2018. The six original entrances (all of which are significantly closer to the faregates) remained open.
