A precursor to modern inline skate commissioned by Montgomery Ward, and made by the Chicago Roller Skate Co. This skate was advertised in Ward's 1965 catalogs as a great off-ice training tool for figure skating and ice hockey. Scott Olson later acquired the US patent 3287023 behind this skate to produce his enhanced versions under Ole's Innovative Sports, which eventually turned into Rollerblade, Inc.
