| Description |
English: Chadderton Mill. I'm stood on a fence to look over a taller fence. Good result though. I'm on the edge of the site of Mona Mill, now a housing estate (aaagh!).
Chadderton Mill was designed by P S Stott for the Chadderton Mill Co and built in 1885 (name and date on top end of engine house). In 1915 there were 102,456 spindles turned by a 1100 hp Hick, Hargreaves engine. This is one of the few mills to retain a lodge but it is lost in foreground clutter. |
