English: Th 1886 Rover Safety Bicycle on display at the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh, PA. It introduced the basic features of contemporary bicycles such as direct steering, two equal-size wheels, the chain drive to the rear wheel, and the diamond shaped frame that provided rigidity.
