English: BUILT EITHER IN 1785 OR 1815 AND EXTERNSIVELY ALTERED. IT IS ASSOCIATED WITH OLIVER HAZARD PERRY OF LAKE ERIE FAME AND ADMIRAL MATTHEW C. PERRY WHO OPENED JAPAN IN 1854. OLIVER PERRY MAY HAVE BEEN BORN ON THE PROPERTY WHICH BELONGED TO HIS GRANDFATHER AND MAY HAVE BUILT THE NOW-STANDING HOUSE AFTER ACQUIRING THE PROPERTY IN 1814
REF. #82000020 NOTE! THIS SITE IS DIFFICULT TO FIND. IT IS LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 1200 FEET SOUTH ON U.S. 1 FROM CONGDON ROAD. TJHERE ARE NO SIGNS INDICATING THE FARM HOWEVER TWO ROADS JOIN THE HIGHWAY SIMULTANEOUSLY AND ONE IS MARKED WITH A GREEN SIGN NAILED TO A TREE WHICH SAYS "ENTRANCE"
