DescriptionCBD & South East Light Rail - Update, 1 August 2016.jpg
English: Anzac Parade Deviation opens to traffic.
Photograph: Transport for New South Wales.
The deviation was opened to traffic on Saturday 30 July and was available for peak hour on Monday morning 1 August 2016. The deviation allows the building of the Moore Park West tunnel under Anzac Parade. The original strategy was to build the tunnel under the road, building two deviations - northbound and southbound. The current plan reduces the build time in half.
Parkland, and trees will be restored and replaced once the light rail alignment is complete, and the deviation no longer required. This is anticipated to happen in the first half of 2017.
