English: A broodje bal is Dutch for either a bun or a slice of bread with a meatball and gravy. The image shows a halved meatball served on two slices of Dutch whole wheat bread. Mustard, here in small packages, is always provided with this dish. In the Netherlands it is often eaten for lunchtime or as a quick snack in a bar or a lunch room. It is often also available at a snack bar.
