DescriptionBridge over the River Derwent (geograph 5861653).jpg
English: Bridge over the River Derwent. This footbridge connects Hall Leys Park with Derwent Avenue. The markers show the height of the floods on Sunday 8th December, 1960 (lower) and on Thursday 9th December, 1965. Much flood prevention work has been done and the park is now a central part of the town's flood protection. The wall which surrounds the northern side of the park has the ability to have the footways sealed which would dam the progress of any overflow from the river and turn the entire park into a large reservoir.
