Summary

Description
English: Bournonite
Locality: Canutillos Mine, Machacamarca District (Colavi District), Cornelio Saavedra Province, Potosí Department, Bolivia (Locality at mindat.org)
Size: 4.3 x 3.1 x 1.3 cm.
About four months ago, there was a new find of Bournonites at Machacamarca, and these are some of the best pieces to come out in a long time. This specimen is one of the top miniatures that I’ve seen from the find featuring sharp, steel-grey color, lustrous, rather thick blades of Bournonite. The main Bournonite crystal is in excellent condition and despite some broken crystals this piece is one of the best examples of this material to hit the market in at least 10 years. The habit of the crystals is rather unusual as they are not the typical "square" tabular form, but have are more modified and have somewhat of an "arrowhead" shape to them.
