English: Borj Neffara (Tower of the Trumpeters), Fes, Morocco. The tower looks like a minaret but was actually used for astronomical observation. It is located very close to the minaret of the Qarawiyyin Mosque and to its Dar al-Muwaqqit (house of the timekeeper). |
