Author or copyright owner |
Melodisc Records |
Source (WP:NFCC#4) | Scanned by Sluffs from the EP which I own |
Date of publication | 1956 |
Use in article (WP:NFCC#7) | Big Bill Broonzy |
Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) | To support encyclopedic discussion of this work in this article. The illustration is specifically needed to support the following point(s): To provide a reference for the 1950s Broonzy autobiography by Bruynoghe as mentioned in the article |
Not replaceable with free media because (WP:NFCC#1) |
No free version available. |
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3) | The image has no commercial value. It was scanned at 300 dpi 24 bit colour BMP and then converted to JPG. It does not represent the artist and is being used because of the promotional advert on the cover for the 1950s Broonzy biography which is mentioned in the article. The label Melodisc ceased trading at sometime either in the late 1960s or early 1970s. |
Respect for commercial opportunities (WP:NFCC#2) |
No commercial value. The image contains simple artwork with no photographs of Broonzy. |
Other information | I would normally resize to further comply with the minimal use policy on Wikipedia. After attempting to resize the image I found that the name of Bruynoghe became unreadable. I want this image to be included in the article to provide a reference not only for the autobiography but also to highlight Broonzy's importance to the trad jazz revival movement in the UK (1950s). Therefore I have not resized the image. |
