DescriptionBas-relief, River Wall, Calne - geograph.org.uk - 810925.jpg
English: Bas-relief, River Wall, Calne This is one (and a half) of several similar pieces in the wall. They were made of ceramics by Richard Cowdy and Vivien ap Rhys Price to symbolize the theme of Breath of Life inspired by the legend that the scientist Joseph Priestley discovered oxygen here. The figure at the right looks more like Darwin than Priestley to me.
