| Description |
English: Interior of the Bab Oudaia gatehouse (gate of the Kasbah of the Udayas), Rabat. The interior is divided into 3 chambers. The two main chambers are covered by domes with squinches, and feature familiar polylobed decorative arches. From the outer gate, each chamber is reached by a short flight of stairs. The second chamber opens to the inner gate and into the kasbah, while a third chamber is only accessible through the second chamber (via a smaller and simpler horseshoe-arch opening, seen here in the distance, in the middle of the picture). |
