Description
English: Automobile road map from Los Angeles to San Fernando Valley, 1917
  • Strip map of routes between Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley. Includes San Fernando (top), City of Los Angeles (bottom & right), Owensmouth and Chatsworth Park (left). Due north is about 20 degrees to the left of vertical.
  • Principal features: municipalities, roads, railroads, mileages, road names, service stations, lodging. Other prominent locations: Hollywood, Van Nuys, Glendale, Burbank (San Fernando Boulevard), Lankershim, Owensmouth, Tropico, Universal City, Calabasas, Encino, Zelzah.
  • Printed at the right "When roads are marked red indicates paved portion, blue unpaved portion"; at the bottom "E.J.B."; at the left, outside the map itself, is the number "9". Verso lists 4 official hotels and 14 garages (2 with addresses).
