Summary

Description

Ball-and-stick model of the structure of the gold(I,III) chloride molecule, Au4Cl8. The molecule features square planar AuIII and linear AuI centres in a chair-like arrangement.

The model is based on the crystal structure of gold(I,III) chloride reported in J. Chem. Soc., Dalton Trans. (1982) 2257-2260 and available as CSD entry 1706110, ICSD entry 201436 and COD entry 4027825.
