Description
English: Arms of Arches family of Arches Manor, East Hendred, Berkshire and of another branch at Waddesdon (Eythrope and Cranwell manors) and Little Kimble, Bucks. Gules, three arches argent. These arms were later quartered by the Dinham family (Barons Dinham), heirs of the Arches of Eythrope, and by the Bourchier family (Earls of Bath), heirs of the Dinhams. Visible quartered by Dinham in stained glass in Bampton Church, Devon; sculpted quartered by Bourchier in stone on Tudor gatehouse of Tawstock Court, Devon (d.1501); on the monumental brass of Edith Dinham, sister of the last Lord Dinham, Christ's College Chapel, Cambridge; In the Duke of Bedford's family chapel at Chenies, Bucks., quartered on the monument to Lady Frances Bourchier (1587-1612) (See Heraldry of the Bedford Chapel, [www.middlesex-heraldry.org.uk])
