English: Anselmo Martinez began in the late 40's singing and writing music in Spanish. He began a conjunto called Conjunto Guana in 1949. Later, with influences like Glen Miller, he began recording with an orchestra and toured all over the U.S. Simply, because he was from Texas they called him a Tejano, Texan in English. Now, to this day the genre of Music is categorized as Tejano Music. |
