English: Kadir was a left-winger. His career started in 1965 at Persebaya Surabaya. He transferred to PSMS Medan in 1969 and played there for two seasons. He then returned to Persebaya Surabaya where he played from 1971 to 1979. He retired in 1983 after short spells at Arseto, Perkesa, and Jaka Utama. He capped for Indonesia 111 times, scoring 70 goals, including also unofficial matches.
One of the greatest players in Indonesia's history, Kadir was nicknamed "Deer" for his extraordinaty agility and speed on the ball. He was one of the fastest players in Indonesia during the 1970s alongside Soetjipto Soentoro, Iswadi Idris, Max Timisela and Jacob Sihasale. He had a short but sturdy physique in his prime. He was though very slippery for the opposing defenders who marked him. He used to make majestic runs on the left flank, mesmerising crowds and players with his skill and technique in maneuvering the ball. Many used to say that his technique was of high level and not inferior to Pelé's. After a 1972 friendly against Santos, won 3-2 by the Brazilian team, Pelé was invited to an Indonesian TV show and he asked Kadir to accompany him. Additionally, Kadir was a remarkably cool penalty taker as he scored at least 10 times from the spot.
