Summary

Description The "Hound Dog" was the standard air-launched missile of the USAF's B-52 squadrons throughout the 1960s and the first half of the 1970s. Armed with a nuclear warhead and powered by a Pratt & Whitney J-52 turbojet, the Hound Dog's engine could be used to provide added power to the B-52 during take-off or while in flight, it being possible to refuel the missile when airborne. It had a speed of Mach 2 and a range of 600 miles.
