[edit]The Copyright in designs and images of UK decimal currency is held by the Crown, and it is by authority delegated to it that the Royal Mint authorises the use and reproduction of such designs.
Reproduction of UK coin designs on Wikipedia is considered to fall within the copyright guidelines of the Royal Mint, provided that the coin design are reproduced faithfully in an appropriate context. This is NOT a licence tag, and all images of United Kingdom decimal currency should be accompanied with an appropriate licence tag and Non-free use rationale. Usually, it is a Crown copyright.
