Description
English: Commemorative stone (1992, Hans 't Mannetje) above the entrance of De Hofwijck, a former nursing home in Leeuwarden, the capital of the Dutch province of Fryslân.
Frysk: Tinkstien boppe de yngong fan it eardere fersoargingstehûs De Hofwijck (gem.mon. nû. 18) oan de Grote Kerkstraat yn Ljouwert, dat yn 1930-'31 nei in ûntwurp fan de Ljouwerter arsjitekt Johannes Boonstra (1898-1959) setten is op it plak fan de Holdingastins. De stien is makke troch de byldhouwer Hans 't Mannetje (1944) en is yn 1992 pleatst. De tekst fan it bibelsitaat 1 Timóteüs 6:7 is (yn de Nije Fryske Bibeloersetting): Want wy hawwe neat meinommen doe’t wy op ’e wrâld kamen, en wy kinne der as wy derút geane, ek neat út meinimme.
Nederlands: Gedenksteen (1992, Hans 't Mannetje) boven de ingang van het voormalige verzorgingstehuis De Hofwijck (1930-'31, Joh. Boonstra, gem.mon. nr. 18) aan de Grote Kerkstraat in Leeuwarden, Fryslân. De tekst van het bijbelcitaat 1 Timotëus 6:7 luidt (in de Herziene Statenvertaling): Want wij hebben niets de wereld ingedragen, het is duidelijk dat wij ook niets daaruit kunnen wegdragen.
