| Description |
Olds Motor Vehicle Co. was founded by Ransom E. Olds in 1897. In 1908 absorbed by General Motors, a mid spec car in GMs range of cars. Oldsmobile was phased out in 2004. A complete restyle for 1959; longer, lower and wider, unique quad headlights, each pair separated with a parker in between. Rear fins were more subdued and less chrome for a much cleaner look. Also six-window styling on four-door pillared sedans, glassy semi-fastback rooflines on 2 door Hardtops and flat-blade rooflines on 4 door Hardtops. 1960 saw a simpler, but bold new grille and flatter tail fins and new tail lights. Available in 1959 was; The 'Dynamic 88', 123 inch wheelbase, 270hp 371 cu in Rocket V8, in 2 and 4 door Sedan, 2 and 4 door Holiday Hardtop, Convertible and Fiesta 4 door Wagon.
