English: Name: American Colony Hotel Description: A dresser in the hallway of the American Colony Hotel in Jerusalem. עברית: שם: מלון אמריקן קולוני תיאור: שידה במסדרון מלון אמריקן קולוני בירושלים. הערות: המבנה הראשי של מלון אמריקן קולוני בירושלים נבנה ב-1860 על ידי רבאח אל חוסייני עבור ארבע נשותיו. הוא נבנה מסביב לחצר פנימית עם מזרקה וצמחייה. הנשים לא הצליחו להרות, אל חוסייני מת ונשותיו עזבו את הארמון. בשנת 1881 זוג אמריקאי-שבדי, אנה והוריישו ספאפרוד, נוצרים אדוקים ילידי שיקגו הגיעו לארץ הקודש ורכשו את הארמון. הם היו זוג עשיר ומוכר והם הגיעו לירושלים בעקבות אסונות שפקדו אותם, קנו את הארמון אותו הפכו לקומונה דתית. ועסקו בפעילות פילנתרופית ועל כן היו אהובים על כל הקהילות החיות בעיר העתיקה. מיקום: ירושלים השכונה האמריקאית קובץ מקורי: 8.jpg |
