  • Inscribed below inset: Torpedo boat at Brooklyn Navy Yard that destroyed the Housatonic.
  • Inscribed right margin: Captain Tunis Augustus MacDonough Craven (sp?) started to go up the ladder of the Tecumseh, which had struck a torpedo in Mobile Bay, & gave way to the pilot. The latter escaped & Craven was drowned.
