ELM-2070

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

IAI ELTA Systems ELM-2070 is Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) designed for Low Earth Orbiting (LEO) Image Intelligence (IMINT) satellites. This lightweight radar system combines high maneuverability with a multi-beam electronic steering antenna, allowing it to cover large areas and provide high-resolution images with a resolution of up to 0.5 meters.

The ELM-2070 SAR can capture detailed images of any area globally, regardless of weather conditions, area obscurance, or time of day, contributing to continuous surveillance and intelligence gathering on a global scale. The radar produces high-quality images that support various applications, including military surveillance, environmental monitoring, disaster response, and more.[1]

The TECSAR-1 satellite of this type was launched by the Indian SPLV satellite launcher[2] in 2008.
