Ilaria Capua is a woman scientist who achieved great goals in her research about viruses. I believe she deserves a page in en:wiki. But I am not sure of my English, of scientific English in particular, so I would appreciate any advice, amendment, help. Thank you.--Pebbles (talk) 16:19, 29 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

User:Vpatho justly tagged content for WP:COI, calling for cleanup WP:RESUME. Within <1hr, the 3 and only contributions by new User:Spaarkling add >12k to article, expanding intro by 4k and bio by 8k with content non-compliant to WP:NPOV. In addition, some references given in these expansions do not support claimed content. Please help

[edit]

Hello,

I work for Dr. Capua. A member of IFAS communications at the University of Florida wrote a wiki entry for her, and she asked me to post it. I did not write the content myself. What do I need to do so that her entry is compliant with the rules? I am new to the process.

Hello. I happened to be the author of the first draft of this article. Apart from being an Italian, I have no link with Dr. Ilaria Capua. I read that en:wiki encourages articles on women scientists, so I tried to write about Dr. Capua. The subsequent history can be read above. I am a bit disappointed that contributions from persons related to Dr. Capua are not welcome. In my opinion, issues of high scientific level can be properly treated only by specialists of the matter, which the vast majority of wiki contributors - me in the first place - are not. Excuse me if I cannot give any help.--Pebbles (talk) 15:52, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'd like to report a COVID-19 misinformation that happened on 7 Sept 2021 on the Italian TV show diMartedi' by virologist Ilaria Capua https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mv_20CVsqrc at 49:47, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNyxksFh42g or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iX-Ge_3ZmIg for the short version. As you can easily verify translating the video descriptions, she literally said on television: "Ivermectin is a dewormer for horses and is a drug that is dangerous for people because it is not registered for people". I perfectly agree with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivermectin_during_the_COVID-19_pandemic which states "Ivermectin is an antiparasitic drug that is well-established for use in animals and people." So I think it's a very serious matter not only claiming that it can be a treatment without scientific evidence but also lying about one of the safest drugs. I don't need to quote https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivermectin right? https://www.nobelprize.org/prizes/medicine/2015/press-release/ "These two discoveries have provided humankind with powerful new means to combat these debilitating diseases that affect hundreds of millions of people annually. The consequences in terms of improved human health and reduced suffering are immeasurable." Thank you for your attention. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.57.100.10 (talk) 17:36, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
