Uzor Arukwe (born August 6, 1983) is a Nigerian actor from Nkwerre, Imo State in the southeastern region of Nigeria. He is known for his works on screen and stage.[1]

He attended the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Port Harcourt, the capital city of Rivers State, south-south Nigeria.[2] He has a Bachelor of Science in Economics and another Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Abia State University. After obtaining his first degree, Arukwe moved to Calabar, where he also got a master's degree in Business Administration.[3]

Uzor Arukwe was born into a family of ten in Lagos State to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arukwe. His parents are originally from Nkwerre, Imo State. He attended elementary school in Lagos, as he was a "Lagos boy."

Career

Arukwe made his Nollywood debut in 2014 in the movie Unspoken Truth but gained recognition for his role in Sergeant Tutu.[4][5] His role as a private investigator in the 2019 movie, Code Wilo also earned him more recognition.[6][7] He received 2 nominations for ‘Best Actor in Comedy or Movie’ in the 2020 African Magic Viewers' Choice Award for his roles in Smash and Size 12 respectively and a nomination for 'Best Actor' in the 2021 Best of Nollywood Awards for his role in Yours Regardless.[5][8][9]

Personal life

Arukwe likes to keep his personal life private. However, he is married with children, but the identity of his wife has not been revealed.[10]

He was nominated in the 2020 African Magic Viewers' Choice Award (AMVCA) and in the 2021 Best of Nollywood Awards.[9][8][11]

For his appearance in the films Size 12 and Smash, he was nominated twice for the 2020 African Magic Viewer's Choice Award for ''Best Actor in Comedy or Movie''.
