Umut Yucharoglu (born in 1999) is a London-based researcher, with a BSc Psychology degree, and master's student specialising in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). His work bridges the fields of psychology and technology, with a focus on understanding the relationship between human behavior and the design of interactive systems.

Early Life and Education

Umut Yucharoglu was born in Turkey and spend his time travelling to other countries before landing to London when he was 19. Here, he pursued his undergraduate studies at London Metropolitan University, earning a BSc (Hons) in Psychology in 2024 with a First-Class degree. His course was accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), granting him the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC). During his studies, he demonstrated academic excellence and leadership in student-led initiatives, serving as the President and Vice-President of the Psychology Society and an elected member of the Student Activities Committee alongside his work commitments and involvements such as being a Success Coach.

In September 2024, Yucharoglu began a Master’s program in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) at University College London (UCL), one of the leading programs globally in the field that is part of the UCL Interaction Centre (UCLIC). In recognition of his academic achievements and potential, Yucharoglu was awarded the prestigious UCL Master's Bursary, enabling him to pursue advanced studies.

Research and Academic Contributions

His undergraduate project explored the relationship between autonomy and technology acceptance in conversational AI systems, contributing to the growing discourse on user experience and trust in emerging technologies. During his time as an undergraduate, he also contributed to a couple of researches as a research assistant. His ongoing research involvements are at University College London (UCL).
