PreparationRinse glass with absinthe. Pour all other ingredients into mixing glass with ice cubes. Stir well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

The Remember the Maine cocktail is an IBA official cocktail made with rye whiskey, cherry brandy, sweet vermouth, and absinthe.[1] The Gentleman’s Companion, by Charles H. Baker, Jr. states that he discovered the Remember the Maine cocktail in Cuba in 1933. The drink is classified as one of the Unforgettables by the IBA.
