One Piece (Japanese: ワンピース, Hepburn: Wanpīsu) is a cancelled Japanese anime television series created by Eiichiro Oda for Fuji Television. The series would follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a boy whose body gained the properties of rubber after eating a Devil Fruit and his crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, as he explores the Grand Line in search of the mythical treasure known as the "One Piece" in order to become the next King of the Pirates. It would be produced by Wit Studio and released in October 1999.
