Ken Kendre (born November 10, 1967) is an Indian-American entrepreneur, educator, and philanthropist. He is widely known as the founder and Chairman of Global International School in India,[5] where he has played a pivotal role in advancing the quality of education with a focus on holistic development. He is also the founder of Ken Kendre College of Technology and Management and has earned recognition for his contributions to both business and education.[1] [2][3] [4] [5]

Early life and education

Kendre was born in Kendrewadi Village, Latur, Maharashtra, into a farming family. Growing up in a rural setting with no access to electricity, he studied under a kerosene lamp, showing early signs of determination and perseverance. Despite these challenges, Kendre excelled academically and eventually pursued a career in technology. He completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering before moving to the United States at the age of 27 in 1994. Kendre's professional journey began in the fields of IT, healthcare, and real estate. After establishing himself in the United States, he founded and ran successful businesses in these sectors, demonstrating his entrepreneurial acumen. In the early 2000s, Kendre transitioned to a devotional life, starting a Hare Krishna Temple in the United States after purchasing a church. This marked a significant shift in his focus, as he sought to integrate spiritual values into his personal and professional life.[2]

In 2017, Kendre turned his attention to education in India by founding Global International School. His vision for the institution was to bring world-class educational standards to India, emphasizing practical, hands-on learning and co-curricular activities. Under his leadership, the school has[5] become one of the top-ranked CBSE institutions in the country, gaining recognition for its comprehensive educational approach.
