Chief Josiah Sunday Olawoyin was born on 5 February 1925 and died on 10 October, 2000.[1] Until his death, he was the first Asiwaju of Offa he reigned between 25 April, 1982 to 10 October 2000.[2] He was a businessman and politician he moved the motion that both Ilorin and Kabba provinces be merged and created as a State with Headquarters at Ilorin, and was seconded by late AGF Abdul-Razaq, the father of Executive Governor of Kwara State Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. Kwara State was created on 27 May 1967 as West Central State during military regime. He was the Governorship Candidate of Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) in 1979.[3] According to the source, the family plan to commemorate his 100th posthumous birthday, the family is set to launch a foundation in his honour on 5 February 2025. The event is expected to draw many important dignitaries, celebrating the life and legacy of this exceptional individual.[4][5]
