Introduction

[edit]

Infolegale is a French company established in 2008, specializing in the collection, aggregation, and distribution of legal, financial, capital, and reputational information about businesses and their directors. The company processes data from various sources, including official French publications such as SHALs (Sources Habilités à publier les Annonces Légales).

History

[edit]

Infolegale was founded on March 15, 2008, by Frédéric Julien and Bertrand Laffay in Lyon, France. In 2011, the company relocated to the Britannia office building in the Part-Dieu business district of Lyon (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region).

In 2021, the founders acquired the shares held by other shareholders, consolidating their ownership[1] of the company. The following year, the investment fund NextStage[2] acquired a stake in Infolegale, which facilitated the acquisition of Covline[3], a publisher of cash management software.

Products and Services

[edit]

Infolegale provides digital solutions aimed at managing fraud[4] and solvency risks as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, including France's Sapin II Law (related to transparency and anti-corruption). These services are delivered via a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform.

The company's tools focus on assisting businesses in assessing and mitigating third-party risks, particularly in the context of business-to-business (B2B) relationships. Infolegale also helps companies verify the compliance of their commercial partners by leveraging data from public and private sources.

Contributions

[edit]

In April 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Infolegale released an analysis[5] predicting an increase in business failures in France. According to their data, companies with fewer than five employees and an annual turnover of less than €500,000 were at higher risk. Sectors most affected included retail (23% of cases), construction and public works (20%), bars and restaurants (12%), personal care services such as hairdressing (6%), and advertising agencies (6%).
