Gian Maria Aliberti Gerbotto (born 1972) is an Italian writer and journalist. His writing activity began in 2007 with the book Il Vippaio[1] edited by Piemme, with a preface by Maurizio Costanzo, also presented in his famous television show, and whose proceeds were donated to cancer research. In 2009 Strano Amore was released[2] (Mondadori Printing), with the preface by Franca Rame, pro struggle to AIDS. In 2011 Il metodo antisfiga[3] (Aliberti Editore ), with the preface by Lino Banfi and Cardinal Ersilio Tonini (distributed throughout Italy by De Agostini) again for charity. In 2014 Sopravvivere ai rapporti di coppia[4] (Aliberti Editore), distributed by Rizzoli. In 2016 Basta Partire[5] (Aliberti Editore), preface by Camila Raznovich, distributed and promoted by RCS. Both always in favor of Cancer Research. His books, the proceeds of which were donated to charity, and his prolific professional activity as a writer earned him the award of Knight of Merit of the Italian Republic in 2010 by the President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano. In 2021, President Mattarella, having seen and verified his continued prolific activity as a writer and novelist, wanted to promote him to Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic[6]. In his career as a writer he received various literary prizes, such as the International Literary Prize Casino di Sanremo, then the International Rocca d'oro Prize, the Res Aulica Academy Prize of Bologna. The ATL (Local Tourist Board) of Cuneo, his current city of residence, has appointed him "Ambassador of the territory for Italy and in the world".[7] The Municipality of Casteldelfino, in 2019, granted him Honorary Citizenship because of having included him in the plot of his novel L'ottavo giorno di Katarina published in 2017 by the publishing house BBEuropaedizioni (preface by the criminologist Roberta Bruzzone), brought national visibility to the small mountain town[8]. His books have all been presented on television in national Rai programs such as Milleeunlibro, Unomattina, La vita in diretta[9], Quelli che il calcio, Your business... And Mediaset: Maurizio Costanzo, The Studio Aperto news Italia 1), Mattino 5... He was then invited as a writer to talk about his books on various national radio stations: Radio 1 Rai [10], Radio Deejay, Radio 2 Rai, Radio 105, RDS, Radio 24, Radio Monte Carlo[11]...
He is one of the 50 thousand "remarkable Italians" present in the "Catalogue of the living" by the journalist Giorgio Dell'Arti who dedicates a biography to him.[12]
Since 2015 he has also dedicated himself to writing detective novels, set in the area, which are immediately considered real fictionalized tourist guides[13]. This characteristic earns him awards and recognition from various institutions.
All his novels were donated to the Italian Union of the Blind to be transformed into audiobooks and made available free of charge to all blind people [14] [15].
