Fatmata Nippe Momoh (née Shaw) is a Sierra Leonean social advocate, public servant, and women's rights activist. She was the First Lady of Sierra Leone 1985-1992. She was born December 28, 1967, in Koidu Town, Kono District, Sierra Leone. She is the second wife of Joseph Saidu Momoh, who was President of Sierra Leone 1985–1992. Her children are Joseph Saidu Momoh Jr., Alim Momoh, and Mariama Momoh.
As the First Lady, she championed social causes, focusing on improving education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation. She organized initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable communities, particularly women and children, collaborating with both local and international organizations. Her work earned her recognition as a leader in social advocacy and women’s empowerment.
After Fatmata became a founding member of the Former Presidents’ Wives Coalition, which advocates for the recognition and empowerment of women who have served in prominent public roles. This coalition promotes collaboration among African women leaders and seeks to preserve the legacies of their contributions to national development. She also serves as the chairperson of the National Marketing Cooperation.
Fatmata resides in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
