David Balondemu is a Ugandan lawyer[1] and the Chairperson of the Kampala District Land Board. [2] He is also the Vice President of FUFA Disciplinary Committee.[3]

[edit]In October 2024, Balondemu was arrested at Entebbe International Airport upon returning from Dubai. He was charged with forgery and conspiracy to commit a felony, specifically accused of forging medical documents to secure bail in an earlier fraud case. He was remanded to Luzira Prison pending further proceedings.[4]
Fraud Allegations (November 2023)
[edit]In November 2023, Balondemu faced charges of obtaining money by false pretense and conspiracy to commit a felony. He and others allegedly defrauded an American company, KG Unlimited LLC, of over UGX 2.2 billion by falsely claiming they could secure a contract for supplying agricultural drone sprayers and fertilizers from the Ministry of Agriculture.[5]
Gold Scam Case (October 2023)
[edit]Earlier, in October 2023, he was implicated in a fraudulent gold deal, accused of obtaining $600,000 from a Korean investor under the pretense of selling 53 kilograms of gold. He was remanded to Luzira Prison but was later released on bail.[6]

Additional Developments
[edit]In November 2024, an accountant associated with Balondemu was arrested and charged in connection with a UGX 4.7 billion fraud case. The accountant, along with Balondemu and others, allegedly used professional networks to defraud individuals by promising lucrative contracts.[8]
