Cam Haffner is a basketball player (born June 2, 2002 in Westfield, Indiana). He is a 6'2" (1.88 meters) 180 pounds (82 kilograms) point guard who plays for the University of Evansville. He won Freshman of the Year for the Ohio Valley Conference[1] where he averaged 7.5 points a game.
High School
[edit]Haffner played for the Westfield High School Shamrocks under head coach Shane Sumpter. Haffner averaged 16.5 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists a game for the Shamrocks. Haffner was selected to the Indianapolis Star All Super-Team. He led the Westfield Shamrocks to a 22-7 in the 2021-22 season.
Collegiate Career
[edit]Haffner played for Eastern Illinois Panthers in his freshman season. He averaged 7.5 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists a game. He was named the Freshman of the Year in OVC conference. His season high came on January 26. Haffner recorded 17 points and 4 rebounds.[2] With the Panthers, Haffner played in 27 games and started 11 times.
Evansville Purple Aces
[edit]In 2023, Haffner transferred to the University of Evansville. His first season in Evansville, Haffner averaged 4.7 points and 1.8 rebounds.[3] His season high with Evansville was against Indiana State on January 3, 2024. He had 11 points and 5 rebounds. Haffner played 27 games, but he only started 8.
In the 2024-25 season, Cam Haffner has proven to be very decent. He has been averaging 14.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists a game.[4] His career high happened on November 22, 2024. Haffner had 27 points and 9 rebounds against Green Bay Phoenix.[3] That was his career in both points and rebounds.
Personal Life
[edit]Cam Haffner is the son of Scott Haffner. Scott Haffner played two seasons in the NBA and his jersey is number #3 is retired from the Evansville Purple Aces.
