ANTONAMASIA
(Australian 2003 - Current)
Antonamasia is a female-fronted metal band from South-West Sydney, Australia, known for their meticulous rhythms, intricate riffs, and evocative lyrics. Their music delves into the human experience, capturing both its beauty and turbulence through high-intensity live performances.
History
Formed in 2003, Antonamasia quickly established themselves in the Australian metal scene. Their debut EP, Keeping Nothing, released in 2006, received airplay on multiple stations worldwide and was featured in publications such as Drum Media, The Music, and Blunt Magazine. Antonamasia has supported multiple international acts like 10 Years (USA), Leaves’ Eyes (Germany), and I Killed The Prom Queen, and performed at the final Metal for the Brain festival.
After a hiatus, Antonamasia reformed in 2020 with the original lineup and released the single “End Oblivion” in 2021, marking their return to the music scene. In 2023, they released the music video for “Kinesis” and announced that they are in pre-production for a new EP titled Flow State, slated for release in 2025.
