Articles for deletion nomination of Douglas tait
I have nominated Douglas tait, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Douglas tait. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. JamesBWatson (talk) 16:32, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
Douglas Tait is a notable actor, he stars in several upcoming films; One by One:Deaths Door (2010) [[1]] with Tony Todd and Sally Kirkland, Knights Of Badassdom (2010) [[2]] with Peter Dinklage and The Hunchback (2010) as The Hunchback [[3]]. He also plays the recurring Character "Butch" on the long running soap All My Children [[4]]. He has also starred in the past films, The Season (film) as Simon, Bloodlines (2007) as Brody Strickland [[5]], Short Fuse (2005) as Little Paul [[6]] and was a supporting actor in 2009's Land of the Lost (film) and Star Trek (film) along with many Guest Star roles on the Television shows I mentioned. Please do your research before you nominate a page for deletion, it causes the user a lot of unnecessary extra work. I can show you many actor Wiki pages with not even half the credits that Tait has, and they have remained without deletion. Tait fits the criteria. Thank You (Trekkieman (talk) 18:40, 9 June 2010 (UTC))
- You may be right about Tait's notability. However, none of the IMDB links you give make it clear that he was a "star". As for "do your research before you nominate a page for deletion, it causes the user a lot of unnecessary extra work", I did look for evidence of notability and did not find any. Of course, no matter how much time I could put into looking, I could always have spent a couple more minutes. Presumably anyone writing an article must know enough to find sources, and I personally agree with the Wikipedia policy that the onus is on those adding or wishing to keep material to provide evidence of notability. JamesBWatson (talk) 19:44, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
Hope these links provides the "Star" information that you need. One by One:Deaths Door (2010) [[7]] [[8]] The Hunchback (2010) [[9]] Knights Of Badassdom [[10]] The Season (film) [[11]] [[12]] [[13]] Bloodlines (2007) [[14]] [[15]] Thanks! (Trekkieman (talk) 21:13, 9 June 2010 (UTC))
I've just stopped by and made some changes to the article, as it is in the depth and breadth of an actor's career that he might be judged as meeting WP:ENT... IF it is seen that he has "had significant roles in multiple notable films, television shows, stage performances, or other productions". But what is also a strong indicator of notability is his SAG Awards nomination (now sourced) in that it helps in consideration of WP:ANYBIO and its allowing a presumption of notability if the "person has received a well-known and significant award or honor, or has been nominated for one several times". Of course, you are always welcome to discuss your own views or make comments at the deletion discussion at Articles for deletion/Douglas Tait. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 03:53, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

Hey Michael I wanted to thank you for improving Douglas Tait's Wiki page. I am new to Wikipedia and I appreciate you rescuing it. It is obvious to me that Tait is a notable actor who has starred in numerous movies and television shoes. in 2010 he has starred in 3 films, so I don't understand why people on here are still nominating to delete it. If there is any advice you can give me to improve it, please let me know, I could use your expertise. Thank you below are some links on films he stars in.
Knights Of Badassdom [[16]] [[17]] One by One:Deaths Door (2010) [[18]] [[19]] The Hunchback (2010) [[20]] The Season (film) [[21]] [[22]] [[23]] Bloodlines (2007) [[24]] [[25]] Thanks! (Trekkieman (talk) 22:50, 16 June 2010 (UTC))
- I tried, but was unsuccessful. You could have spoken up at the deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Douglas_tait, where your input would have been welcome. It was deleted mere minutes before your note, so I have asked that the deleted version be userfied to me, for continued work, and the request has been granted[26]. Now its time to see what can be done to make it a definite keeper. We'll see what happenes. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 23:28, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
Darn!! I just got on here when I wrote you that note. Thanks again for your continued help. I really appreciate it. (Trekkieman (talk) 23:31, 16 June 2010 (UTC))
- I might advise that you study various AFDs to see how editors discuss matters, so as to learn the processes. As for the Tait article, take a deep breath and don't fret. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 23:44, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
Hi Michael, just stopping by to see if there was any progress in the Douglas Tait page. Thank you for your time. (Trekkieman (talk) 00:41, 27 June 2010 (UTC))
- Its on my list. I'll see what I can do before the weekend is over. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 00:45, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
Douglas Tait
Hey Michael I know you are extremely busy, but if you have a moment can you look into Douglas Tait's page and see if there is anything you can do? Thanks! (Trekkieman (talk) 06:17, 9 July 2010 (UTC))
- His career is not in doubt, and can be verified. What we need though are actual articles that speak about his work. Can you help? Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 07:05, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
I can help. Thanks for the note. I will work on it. Best, (Trekkieman (talk) 02:11, 10 July 2010 (UTC))
Found a couple articles that speak of his work. [[27]] [[28]] (Trekkieman (talk) 00:30, 13 July 2010 (UTC))
- The first at Inkless Magazine is a suitable beginning... but the second at Wikia will not do. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 01:12, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
Hello Michael, I have recently checked in on Douglas Tait online and I am finding a lot of new projects that he is starring in. It is so strange to me that it is so hard to approve him. 3RR Warning (May 2012)
Your recent editing history at Douglas Tait (stuntman) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Please discuss on the article's talk page and at least let us know why you keep removing mention of the fact that Douglas Tait was suspended from his high school basketball team while he was a senior in December 1992. Are two LA Times articles wrong? Novaseminary (talk) 17:58, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
You have been trying to delete this page for some time sir, and now you are trying whittle it down to nothing. You have already added the (stuntman) next to his name to further discredit the "ACTOR". Now you are adding negative articles to his page, and pass them off as needed articles to prove he went to Alemany. C'mon, back off. (Trekkieman (talk) 23:25, 21 May 2012 (UTC))
- I added this article and this article because, in addition to establishing where he went to high school, they establish "Tait was removed from the team for 'using vulgarities and abusive language toward the players" at an Alemany High School girls' basketball game'" in 1992 while he was a senior, as noted in the article. This is at least as important as his having played Frankenstein at Universal while in high school. WP articles cover the good, the bad, and the ugly. This is not a fan site. If something is wrong, follow WP:AUTOPROB. These articles are the most clearly RSs cited in the article. But this isn't the place to discuss what is in or out of the article. The article talk page is for that. Please participate there and stop being disruptive. Novaseminary (talk) 01:36, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
