Regarding the IndianIRC page

Hi. IRC is definately working. I think the page is of no use now. I am listing it for deletion. Regards, --Nearly Headless Nick 10:56, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You are right but, that guide only provides information to connect via proxy. Users can also directly connect if they want to. But, I think you are right, there might be some users who may require the use of proxy servers to access #wikipedia and other related channels. Can you make the move for me, please? Regards, --Nearly Headless Nick 11:03, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Care to join #wikipedia-in? --Nearly Headless Nick 11:56, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I am quite aware of that, but I was RC Patrolling. So, I thought about outsourcing my work. ;) --Nearly Headless Nick 11:58, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Try connecting directly. I suppose you are using Xchat or mIRC... so try connecting without the proxy settings. I have seen you once inside the IRC channel. :) --Nearly Headless Nick 12:03, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I generally get in there by the name of Andy123. --Nearly Headless Nick 13:58, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
And, err... I beg to differ on the comment on your page that you are supposedly the youngest admin here. For your information, Ilyanep became administrator when he was 12 and was crowned err... he became a bureaucrat at the age of 13. :P --Nearly Headless Nick 15:54, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I am not sure. Sango123 was supposedly 13 when she became an admin. :) --Nearly Headless Nick 10:07, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Youngest: I thought I'd share a story

Hi Shreshth, noted that you've gone from youngest to second youngest admin ever on your user page. I was the youngest doctor in Canada from July 1, 2001 until June 30, 2003 (->was age 22) but then some other kid graduated at age 19 in 2003. Two months later he had his license revoked for illegally prescribing drugs... Not that I'm wishing ill on Ilyanep.  :) -- Samir धर्म 08:11, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tee hee, no I'm definitely not notable. You sir, however, will be... In case I haven't told you enough, do medicine as a career! You'll be great at it. Cheers -- Samir धर्म 07:18, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe computers is a better idea... My friend (who is notable) graduated from high school with me in 1994. I went into pre-med, he went into computer science. He sold a product that he developed (Cryptobox, google it) for tens of millions and retired at 25 to become a venture capitalist with an annual income ten times mine. With computers, one brilliant idea is all it takes. Cheers -- Samir धर्म 07:23, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

NPL

IMHO culling relevant info from NPL page is a bad idea. History of measurement in India has a chronological order which is quite relevant for the NPL page. Tatra 11:25, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Shreshth, I am sorry to have brought you trouble with NPL etc., user:Tatra (under some 40 accounts, including these and these) trolls me incessantly and this occasionally creates a nuisance to others also. Take my advise and don't ever dream of engaging with him or saying a word to him. Some 18 archived talk-pages of the Rajput page bear witness to his nutheadedness. Sorry, but all I can do is offer you a Lassi. And compound the inconvenience by requesting that you keep an eye on his other edits and help me revert them. Sorry again. Re: Adminship

Th fact is that I prefer admins to be multilingual becuase I consider it to be fairer, because of the position they hold (monolungual authority figures tend to favour their own langauge over others). And also, the fact that you call my signiture "irritating" suggests that you are not good at accepting difference, it is a very unusal signiture but I may was well reject many other wikipedians' signitures similarly. It is like being familar with white and olive persons but never having seen a black man before, I that were the case with you, would you find black skin irritating? Let's face it, my signiture is unusal but that doesn't mean you should me much remarks on it. I myself would certainly not accept any signiture containg, for example, Nazi type swastikas, but that is different. Myrtone@Shreshth91.com.au:-O

No Worries

Haha sorry mate. I didn't mean to wake the beast ( : Just a bit of poking fun at a Canadian. I didn't see his comments either, sorry. Minfo 21:13, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Someone needs a nap. I would change my vote to support, but it doesn't really matter; he's going to get adminship either way.

User:Tatra

Hi,

I believe you are keeping a watch at User:Tatra's edits. He is reverting a lot of pages at bot-speed and with uncivil edit summaries. I will be leaving for my hometown in a few hours and don't know if net connection would be regular back there so it will not be possible for me to follow up the developments. I have tried to explain him that his actions are incorrect but if he doesn't improve, I feel an admin's intervention may be needed. And yes, he is removing warnings from his talk pages. Keep a look at them too. -Ambuj Saxena (talk) 09:23, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You wanted an imaginative vandalization ay...?

Ok, here's what I could come up with. Now that I 'vandalized' your page to show that your page has been 'vandalized' 12 times, would you revert it back to 11? or just leave it at 12? If you decide to leave it as it is, then its not actually 'vandalizing', is it? So the count has to be wrong. But if you decide it is 'vandalizing' and revert it. What will you revert it to? :-P Sasank 00:10, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My RFA

Shreshth91, thank you very much for your support in my recent Request for adminship, it passed with a final tally of (65/3/3) - which I find both amazing and humbling. I wish I had time to thank everyone personally, but I'm afraid all I can offer is this token of my gratitude. I hope to live up to your expectations/hopes. If at any stage you need to contact me, for help or a request or to point out a mistake in my conduct, please make sure to tell me on my talk page. --Fir0002 08:24, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

Hi Shreshth91/Archive7, thank you for voting in my RFA which failed eventually at a result of (91/51/8). I do not plan to run for adminship until a later date. Once again, I would like to thank you for voting. --Terence Ong (talk | contribs) 15:04, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much Shreshth91!

Dear Shreshth91/Archive7, thanks for your FIRST support on my recent request for adminship. I've really enjoyed working with you so far. It's such a pleasure to work with fabulous young talents like yourself. Like I said, I won't be notable enough to be on wikipedia, but I'll bet my house that you will be! Take care -- Samir धर्म 07:38, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A short Esperanzial update

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.

As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I'm not a lawyer. But, common sense tells me that Right to Info is only about information and not about text. Whereas information, once public, can never be copyrighted, text is, unless noted otherwise. What the act seeks to do is to bar anyone from not disclosing certain information to the public.

That said, one can quote text from nic.in sites liberally. Also, texts of acts, judgments, etc., are by definition public and free.

Nichalp or Pamri would be able to clarify better. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 06:40, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Self-Block

I am afraid I am going to have to unblock you, as "self-blocking to enforce a Wikiholiday or departure is specifically prohibited". I'll give you a day to respond, and then... Sorry! There is a script to add to your monobook to stop you from editing, you may want to use it, although there are 2 ways around it. Prodego talk 15:40, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A sweet bar of chocolate for a sweet person!

Hello, I miss you to wish you yesterday. I have brought factory-fresh chocolates. It takes exactly 7 days to become "eatable". Once you fisnish your exams, please enjoy the bars. In case, you wish, I will bring other delicacies. During exams, you should be careful about your health. All the besat! --Bhadani 17:46, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

By the way self-block is not a prudent step. One should try to have control over oneself. I can not imagine a life beyond wikipedia, still there are real life matters which one has to attend and care for. Ultimately nothing matters - from dust one has come and to dust one shall go!
