April 2021

Hello, I'm Melmann. I noticed that in this edit to Pakistan men's national field hockey team, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Melmann 11:28, 17 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, 1998 India-Pakistan field hockey test series, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. A tag has been placed on Category:Pakistan National Hockey Championship indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Pakistan men's national field hockey team, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Forward. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Field hockey positions requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.maverickhockey.co/blogs/hockey-wingman/field-hockey-positions-explained and https://www.fieldhockeyreviews.com/field-hockey-positions/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Categorisation

Hello. You created Pakistan national field hockey team tours and matches, which should really be a category rather than an article. Create Category:Pakistan national field hockey team tours and matches and then add [[Category:Pakistan national field hockey team tours and matches]] to the bottom of the relevant articles to automatically add them to the category. Have a read of WP:Categorization to learn more about it. Not surprisingly, the cricket articles are in a much better state, so you may want to look at Category:Pakistani cricket tours abroad for some inspiration. I have sent you a note about a page you started

Hello, Azeem 1020. Thank you for your work on Amatitlania coatepeque. User:Hughesdarren, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

Hi There, Nice work. I'm not an expert but I think this is a species not a subspecies so I changed the taxobox to reflect this as well as other tidying. Should the opening read "Amatitlania coatepeque also known as Lago Coatepeque is a freshwater fish species" (instead of "Amatitlania coatepeque also known as Lago Coatepeque is a freshwater fish subspecies")? Either way if you could check my work and let me know if I screwed up I would appreciate it. Regards.

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Saiga antelope into Mongolian saiga. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 04:48, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Kalwe Galago moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Kalwe Galago. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because Until it is listed by the IUCN or ASM's MDD, we do not create new taxonomic mammal articles. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. UtherSRG (talk) 21:08, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Further, from the looks of the references, the species is Grant's bushbaby, and we already have an article for that. - UtherSRG (talk) 21:13, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sand cat stuff

That's already handled well enough at sand cat... we don't need an article for each subspecies. - UtherSRG (talk) 17:24, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Why not ? Azeem 1020 (talk) 17:25, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Species level is the lowest taxonomic level where we will create an article for every taxon. Below that, we fall back to considering notability, and most subspecies just are not notable. - UtherSRG (talk) 17:28, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We once had 2 pages on subspecies, but decided to blank + redirect them to the main page some time last year, as they both contained essentially the same text as the main page. – BhagyaMani (talk) 18:58, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
