Cultured Rat Hippocampal Neuron (24327909026)

I am a Neurobiologist with a Ph.D. in Pharmacology. I have been teaching in a biology department for the past 26 years. I have taught experimental neurobiology and neurobiology lecture to upper classmen as well as introductory biology to freshman. In addition to teaching, I run a federally funded research laboratory. I have expertise in electrophysiology, calcium imaging, protein biochemistry, and confocal microscopy.

I have been editing Wikipedia since 2013, mostly as part of my upper division neurobiology course. As of 2020, my students (total of 407 over the entire time) have edited 127 articles, 11 of which were completely new articles. The first part of the assignment is for my students to write their userpage so they gain experience in editing in Wikipedia. This includes how to insert links and figures. I have inserted a photo of my two dogs, named Oliver and Tambo. Tambo passed away last spring at the age of 17.5 years. He was a beagle/Australian cattle dog mix, which are some of the longest living dogs. Oliver is 11 years old and a border collie/hound mix. This photo was taken about eight years ago.

When I am not busy at work I like to ski in the winter and sail in the summer.
