A Bit about Me

The name King Hildebrand derives from Gilbert and Sullivan's Princess Ida. It is one of the many G & S parts which I have never played. For others, please refer to any available score. When I sing, I'm a bass baritone. This is not relevant to my activities here.

Expertise

I am an expert in virtually nothing. That is, I do not consider myself up to the task of creating a page from scratch. This has not stopped me from trying, but I left it as a stub for more knowledgeable contributors to revise.

On the other hand the breadth of the subject matter about which I know a little is large. I can venture an opinion in most fields other than popular music and sports.

Character

"I'm a peppery kind of king, who's ill disposed for parleying..." I don't suffer fools gladly, least of all myself. I try to be tactful with others, but can be scathing about my own mistakes. I will yield gracefully in the face of superior knowledge, but will fight my corner when I believe myself to be in the right.

Contributions

Corrections to spelling, grammar and format. A few additions of extra meanings on disambiguation pages. (For some obscure reason I added the entire section on People to the Orlando disambiguation page. Does this make me an expert on Orlandos? Probably not!) Links adjusted here and there. Geography, anatomy, science, history, literature... One or two additions to date pages. Little bits here and there.

Things to do

Think about rewording the "narrow/broad" conflict on Hapax legomenon. Done.
