My name is Federico Poloni. I have obtained a PhD in mathematics at the Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa, I have been a Alexander von Humboldt postdoctoral fellow in Berlin and am now an associate professor at the University of Pisa. My main field of study is Numerical linear algebra, especially matrix equations.

I took part in the 2001 and 2002 International Mathematics Olympiads. Now I help the scientific staff organize the Italian mathematical Olympiad.

I am an active Linux user and an amateur juggler.

I prefer to write on the English Wikipedia rather than on the Italian one because I think knowledge should not be fragmented in many languages; rather, English should be the knowledge sharing lingua franca.

My English is far from perfect, so please correct any mistakes you find in my edits.

I am currently (as of 2021) a member of the Outreach Commitee of the International Linear Algebra Society, therefore I am in conflict of interest with some articles I plan to edit.
