Who is Hugh? Hugh Calum Laurie is a British actor with phenomenal acting skills. Laurie not only acts, he writes, directs, produces, and is a comedian. Although Laurie is most well- known as an actor he wrote a novel called the Gun Seller and is currently working on another called Paper Soldier. There is more to him just than all of that, he plays multiple instruments such as the guitar, saxophone, piano, and harmonica. Laurie is very successful in his acting career and is very talented. Hugh Laurie was born on June 11, 1959 in Oxford, England. He was the youngest of his siblings. His father, Dr. William George Ranald Mundell Laurie, is also very well- known as in the Olympics he had won the 1948 gold medal for rowing and was a doctor. Laurie’s father was an outstanding oarsman, and he followed in his father’s footsteps as well. Laurie has a mother named Patricia Laurie and has one sister and two brothers. Currently Lauire has a wife named Jo Green and has three beautiful children named Rebecca, Charlie, and Bill. He is now living in the United States for a television series, but originally lives in London. Hugh and his family are just wonderful. Hugh Laurie’s education was very beneficial toward his career. He first went to Dragon School in Oxford. Then he went to Eton and Selwyn College. Finally he went to Cambridge University and there he studied anthropology and archeology. He was also on the rowing team and was a great oarsman just like his father. Unfortunately Laurie fell ill and got kicked out of the team.
